Playlist player with Shel Israel puppet...

Well I thought i'll check out the youtube playlists player feature, as it looked like a nice thing to bundle fav clips.

Lately those favs are the Shel puppet hysteria on 1938media (no offense intended at anyone, it's just for the fun):

Something cool is coming...

Congrats fo Foxytunes

Logomusictoolssmall(Update: It's official)

So confirmation and official announcement is still due for later today, but I thought I could rely on Paidcontent post, which confirms that Yahoo has (*most likely*) acquired Foxytunes.

Hard to tell how this item will cross over amidst the Microsoft-Yahoo mambo jumbo, but for everyone who is interested in digital/online music and in music 2.0 in general - this is a significant move.

I wrote in the past how their "post to facebook" feature is the best way to show videos on your facebook profile, and I would even guess that their mail signatures might evolve into a disrupting music promotions and discovery tool.

Congrats to the foxy lads - hard workers and modest people - being a great example on how to build a focused web product, making it 100% viral (no advertising or promotion used) while keeping it unobtrusive and need-oriented.

Their Foxytunes Planet site is also a good example for building a smart UI, utilising all the small nuances of attention design and the "less is more" rule.

Well, this kinda brings me to the next post, which I wanted to write for a long time, about how media players can be very effective for widgets seeding.

Mobiluck 2.0 Officially Launched: Location-based Social Platform, With Minimum Friction and No Need for GPS

Finally it's out :) Patrick has just posted the official PR for the launch of Mobiluck 2.0 or Mobiluck Live (on wap).Mobiluck

The new version is a major upgrade to the original bluetooth messaging application that first showed on late 2003, and the Mobiluck team have made an amazing work to create this service, which is essentially also a platform for location-based mobile applications.

My big congrats and salute to Olivier, Patrick, Lison, Laurent, Stephane, Tristan, Marc, Thibault, Oualid and everyone who helped to forge the new Mobiluck experience.

What is this experience then?

At simple level - Mobiluck answers the question "Where are my friends now/ What's around me now". it's a location awareness tool. The post gives good examples how Mobiluck elegantly complements our everyday intuitive needs to asses what's on our radar.

In a deeper perspective - Mobiluck is also emerging as a platform to power social mobile applications with location awareness.
Want to build an auction system for securing free parking lots in trafficked cities? You can use Mobiluck. Interested in location-based marketing campaigns with special social features? Mobiluck can easily provide that.

Mobiluck How about mashing up facebook apps with real world location data received from Mobiluck? also possible I guess. Location meets lifestream.

This avenue for social location based apps is simply fascinating, as it adds a new layer of data and meaning to your social experience. I'll try to explain more about the potential of this platform in the next posts.

Congrats to Yedda.com - Sold to AOL (undisclosed price)

Yaron has just reported about it - and it's great news, since Yedda (Questions & Answers service with a strong differentiating natural language technology) was one of the veteran Israeli web stratups of the web2.0 era.
Over the last year they have extended their original Q&A service into a platform that can be plugged to partner websites. This was an essential part of their latest growth.

Besides that, good people + strong tech skills + deep understanding of the anatomy of a web service + belief = success.Yedda

I've been using Yedda myself over the last year - starting as a replacement to my previous "Experts Exchange" account and later on as a daily tool for finding answers about software and tech tips.

If You'd Like to Do Business with Google

Better read this post before.

I Chose Python

PythonlogoI've always wanted to program in python, but couldn't help from flirting with the hottest chick in town, Ruby.

Through many chats with friends and developers it was clear that python is a better platform in terms of stability, performance and software design - but, Ruby's immense popularity and coolness were hard to resist.

For some time it seemed that the runners-up Pylon and Django are less sexy in features - but this is probably over now. With Pownce and Revver2.0 built on Django, and constant updates to Pylon, looks like there's a new fresh hottie in the block.
I'm in :)

So, old tactics are still relevant, even tremendously relevant, in the modern web battlefield.

Just look at the launch partners list.

Google Ads on Digg don't show {keyword} parameter?

I was just checking digg when i saw these ads at the top bar:

google ads on digg unoptimized

Well, just a small glitch I guess - but probably could be somewhat crucial to the advertiser, who would like his chosen keyword appear in the ad, which is obviously filtered by Digg to this specific page.

Or maybe it's left there intentionally, as a new copyrighting method to generate interest among professionals? Hard guess...

Wonder if anyone caught a similar ad on digg? post here if you have :)
