I was taking a part in the Palore project, from the very early days of concept incubation to the recent first phase beta launch (mainly in Israel).
It's been a great period, with many interesting moments during the bootstrapping of this start-up.
I'll write more on Palore in the coming weeks, but here's just something quick for now:
Yesterday the palore client was featured for download (Hebrew page) in Nana, one of the biggest portals in Israel. Less than 24 hours have passed, and the counter is on 2790. Quite an impressive number in Israeli terms for a software on day 1, without any preceding buzz or promotion (they didn't even start a blog yet...). There was an article as well (Hebrew again...sorry, no translation at the mo).
As a reference, ICQ (#1) has a weekly download average of 14k - so in a way it kinda puts Palore's current score near the top of the chart.
A'fcourse, still early to determine how it will grow form here, but it's certainly a successful start. Good luck to the lads...
Update, 14.4.06 - Palore is now #2 in the popular download chart.
