Just had a short chat with my friend Fabien from SkyRock Radio (one of the major radio stations in Paris), where he mentioned Dailymotion- a vlogging/video sharing/youtube style site, based in France.
No big news of course, but i found out that I really like their UI design.
Seems like they managed to come up with a good blend of easy usability and pleasant, sleek graphics. The text boxes are cool, tags are multicoloured, and the necessary data is visible at one look. In short, this site has a high level of what I call "Content Clarity" - you can quickly and easily figure out the content elements of the site, and get to the actual "content consuming" without wasting time.
Simple, and useful design. This makes me want to come back and keep exploring this site.
And here's the first page design - the boxes help to create a cool Content Clarity, and there's a smart prioritisation of data presentation. Important text is highlighted, less relevant text that you might want to examine in a second view, is subtly dimmed.
