Well LinkedIn are pretty much conservative about embedding widgets and HTML code inside the profile pages, but a Confabb add-in could really boost the value of using LinkedIn for business communications.
Something like a "Confabb Status" box with updates on event activities (eventful-like), recent sessions, comments, and most importantly - interests.

When we were planning the technology for Confabb we considered added LinkedIn profile links to the user Profile screens, but removed this from the functionality list after we determined the LinkedIn.com public profile pages were too anemic in data to be at all useful to non-Linkedin users.
If LinkedIn had an API we would gladly read/write our profile data to them, creating a win/win situation for everyone.

10x for the note Cameron - I agree.
A Confabb widget would serve linkedin users very well, and would boost not only page views but also communication between members.
Pity linkedin doesn't allow HTML code insertion..
