Huh? Google, Yahoo & Microsoft all hacked the same way...?

The.Co.ils blog just posted a nice highlight about some DNS poisoning in the records of Google, Yahoo and Microsoft. All were treated the same way and by same group.

Read the whole story + Screenshots here. Basically the 'hackers' are making a common known "DNS poisoning" and are attaching the original domain names to some typically spammy domains.

Here are 2 of them that I actually kinda liked:

  • GOOGLE.COM.HAS.LESS.FREE.PORN.IN.ITS.SEARCH.ENGINE.THAN.SECZY.COM
  • MICROSOFT.COM.AND.MINDSUCK.BOTH.SUCK.HUGE.ONES.AT.EXEGETE.NET

Not really "hacking", not even close.
I can also open a sub-domain on my personal server and call it: google.com.eliram.com
This will make my domain appear in the whois search for the sub-string "google.com" as well.
Did I hack google by doing that? Not quite.
:-)

But it's funny, non the less.

Can google or microsoft do anything about that? no. Just as it's improbable that they act against me because I mentioned google.com in this response.

This also has nothing to do with true DNS poisoning, by the way. Totally different thing.

Hi Eliram,
Thanks for the clarification :) Well, i guess it's just a non item after all..

Hi, Found a cool news widget for our blogs at http://www.widgetmate.com/news . Now I can show the latest news on my blog. Worked like a breeze.
