Once Again 1st in Google Image Search - This Time Thanks to Fleck

You might remember the previous time I surprisingly discovered that I scored 1st on Google's image search - it was with Amanda Congdon, and my ego skied like a maniac.

So this week I came across another #1 case, this time with Google image search for "Atari Retro", with a very interesting aspect: The URL of the page comes from Fleck - the nice page annotation service (previous posts about them).

Once again Google no. 1...

I wonder what that means...? Could it be that someone linked to this fleck cached? and if yes, why I can't find this link? :) Fellow fleckers - would be happy to hear your guesses. Anyway, this could have very interesting implications for the Fleck service.

Btw, Fleck have released a new add-on for Firefox, which is really nice and elegant, and shows you if the page you are browsing was flecked (annotated by someone). I found that whenever I see a sign that there's a fleck on the page, I'm curious to check it.

Fleck goes live

So Fleck is now finally launched, following the TechCrunch post.

See it in action now -> just click this button  Fleck me baby! - to add a stylish note for this page.

As I've written before, I see the main "killer" aspect that can drive adoption in the Fleckroll list (which is currently called "examples" list, but could really be developed into something more central).

People who Fleck pages would do it again if they know their flecks get the headlines, even if for just 30 secs. That's the Digg factor that drives users to keep generating content, resulting in stickiness.

And Fleck does it very nicely, with a great creative UI. Boris tells me that a "most recent " filter will be added shortly, so you can see the latest flecks  around the web.

Fleck is launching today (16.11)

Boris and Partick are planning some white tuxedo suits parade during the Fleck launch today, at the TechCrunch NY party.

On the first post I said I'm not sure what is the biz model behind fleck, but now after playing with it a bit and looking at the site, it becomes quite clear, and makes good sense. Basically it's around premium features with Pro accounts, that can extend the app usability to more puproses, mainly Enterprise 2.0 related.

In theco.ils blog we've been talkling a lot (in Hebrew though) about how Enterprise 2.0 becomes more and more crucial in Web 2.0, so I'm eager to see how Fleck addresses this niche later on.
