We Love Siobhán Donaghy

She's back with a great single "Don't Give It Up". For me she's the current ultimate Redhead Diva with tons of glamour presence. And a hooking mystic Irish scent...

Some would might say it's an attempt to make a Goldfrapp clone, but actually, that's a good thing! I'm quite eager to hear the full coming album of Siobhán, "Ghosts" - Silky indie Glam rock-pop, stitched with shiny electro embroidery and even some nice folkish beads.

You might remember her from the first line-up of British pop trio Sugababes, and she also had a nice single 3 years ago, "Overrated" (See Original Studio Video).

Paradise Lost coming to Israel!

Forget all the tech bullshit buzz. Here is the real exciting news I've read in the last 2 years I think.

Paradise Lost Paradise Lost (Official, MySpace)- the band that brought the definite Gothic Metal sound to the world 20 years ago, and since released 10 albums, each with a unique touch.

Last time they were here was around 1996 I think, playing the "Draconian Times" tour. Insurance mess is what kept them from coming back as far as I know, and I think that after the recent game between Eng-ISR for Euro 2008, this was finally solved.

So they are coming here to play! (May 12th, Barby). This is a great celebration to their many fans here, and especially for everyone who attended the 3 unforgettable gigs during the 90's.

Hope there will be a chance for some stage diving. Also I can almost hear the crowds shouting "As I Die!"
(don't think they play it, though).

Here's one of their cool fast rock-metal tunes, from the One Second album:

Working On a Remix to Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music

Excitement is back.

Roxy Remodeled was a great release of new covers to one of the most influential artists in the last 40 years - Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music. I had the honour to participate in this album with a cover to a classic gem -> Kiss and Tell.Roxyremodeled

But I always felt it wasn't a good enough remix, and we missed the glowing power this song has.

During last year I hooked up with a cool talented upcoming producer, Dope Demand (aka Phil). We started to play with the Roxy acapella that I got from my dear friends at NewSoundTheory.

And something very refreshing and sparkling is cooking up! Long time since I last participated in a remix production (Fuf's mix to Jimmy Cliff and Sting), and it's such a great feeling to work on it.

So until we get it laid out properly, I'll feature here some of the other great music pearl from Roxy Remodeled, starting with this sultry remake to yet another timeless hit, Avalon:

Kinnernet 2007 #5: The Incredible Balls Organ (Xylophone) Machine

Aside from the Thinktanks camp, Kinnernet is also very much a Geeks Vaudeville -  something I never really had a chance to attend before, and was a great experience. The highlight event was the Power Tool Drag Race (will cover that later) hosted by Pablos, but what hooked me was This amazing music machine, built by Didi Vardi.

First play the vid to get a taste:

Quite a crazy thing, with a lovely glimpse of magic. Lots of things are moving, jumping and making sounds. Apparently they also presented it on The Burning Man festival, under the official name of "The Vibrating Laser Balls Organ".

Neat stuff. So I've been thinking what tune I can put for this item, and had to come with this killer live mashup from the Stanton Warriors (who recently played at the Barzilay Club here in Tel Aviv).

Thanks to Robert from Zickel (check out his cars!) for the video and some of the pics.

Truly-Madly alive again!

Indeed it is , with all the 13 mixes online !      thanks Michael.

For any oldschool and deep house music lover this site is like a bliss - Michael Joyce has created some of the most spectacular deep/chicago house mixes, which are nothing but genius streams of hypnotic soulful harmonies. I discovered many amazing tracks thanks to Michael's sets.

-> Have a taste yourself, download the "Essence" mix.

The site was taken down for over a year I think, and I just found it's up again by accident, while I was listening to his "greyish" mix on foxytunes, and thought to check the site URL.

Hope to see the tracklistings added sometime as well. I actually wonder if it's all related to the recent chart success of Cascada's "Truly Madly Deeply"...(shite eurodance cover).

Anyway, had to put this gem to close this post:

Childhood memoirs

Visiting my baby niece during Hannukah has mysteriously triggered some nostalgy urge.

Everybody who grew up in the 80's remembers the captivating "Crockett's Theme" from Miami Vice, originally composed by Jan Hammer. Mesmerising deep synths over murky bassline which made dreams more interesting when I was a kid...

So here are 3 versions of it, for those who like retro drops:

The Original - from Miami Vice

Miami Vice 2006 (film) - Jan Hammer Project ft. TQ - Awesome rap version!

"FPU - Crockett's Theme" - Electro-Club version from Tiga's Turbo Recordings

"Snoop Loves Football" - World Cup 2006 meets the Urban Style

Well, it's time for some little self propaganda (following the nice post at Ringtonia blog).

We've just released the first chapter in our superb content package for World Cup 2006, starring the very amazing rappers Warren G and Snoop Dogg.

"Snoop Loves Football" - is a wicked mini-series of Videos, Realtones & VideoTones, all are taken from the song "Get U Down", featured on Warren G's fantastic album "In The Mid-Night Hour".

What's the deal?

The 2 clips are what we call "The essential Urban flava of Football". Or the ultimate expression to what's the Soul of Football is about.

Snoop Loves Football - The ultimate Urban culture & Football mash The concept is simple: we all love football for its true basic soul. For the essential spirit that touches everyone, no matter where they are in the world, or which team they support. It’s the street game, the “hood” matches, which create that initial spark of excitement we all share.

And we think there are no better than rap honchos Warren G and Snoop Dogg to deliver that feeling with their absolutely smashing lines and beats.

It’s the world’s popular game meets the world’s biggest rappers.

Where to get it?

The package is currently available for licensing (check our www.crazedigital.com for more details), but you can of course get it right away:

Send SMS with “GO SNOOPFOOTBALL” to

UK -> 82772

Germany -> 82008

Ireland -> 57788

International -> +44-7786-203222

Definitely worth checking out!

Some more Manifesto notes

The Craze Digital lads love football, and wanted to create a unique and original , that connects great music with the foundations of the football experience. We're really sought to bring people the feelings and emotions that surround the game. The vibes of excitement that surge while you play, watch, listen or talk about football.

Sure - flags, animations and players wallpapers are the obvious wanted items. But at Craze we are music people - so our aim is to find innovative ways to tie amazing music with the digital world, keeping the music at the centre all the time!

Hey! but it's American Football in the clips, not Soccer!

Honestly, it doesn't matter! here's why:

1. If Snoop sang on Soccer, it would have seem artificial and maybe even a fake. Obviously, the original theme was about American Football. But that's the whole point - it gets the real cool twist when the clip is taken in the context of Soccer / European Football / World Cup. We're in the mashups generation, and young people quickly understand this kind of tweaks and find it has something very unique and rad!

2. The main theme is the street culture and sports. Whether Soccer, American Fooball or anything else, the "feel" we want to put here is the "Soul of the Game" - which Warren G & Snoop brilliantly express.

And guess what - 2 more chapters in our WC 2006 series will be released soon, as the games begin.

What's next??

Coming up are exclusive remixes for 2 massive tunes, both of which relate to the core cultural elements of this amazing event - The Mundial!

I'll post here once they are out, and meanwhile would be happy to hear anyone's views on the "Snoop Loves Football" clips!

oh, a website with previews will be aired very soon :) Working hard on this...
